Happy Anniversary to Baker Street Elementary!

Baker Street Elementary logo

Baker Street Elementary, a webcomic featuring schoolboy Sherlock Holmes, John Watson, and often their troublemaking friend Stamford, last month celebrated its tenth anniversary. The strip is written by Joe Fay and Steve Mason and illustrated by Rusty Mason. Congratulations, folks! It’s in the minimalist style, with primarily head shots of the young characters, distinguished by their hats. The dialogue drives the humor, with plenty of Sherlockian references. Breathe: Journeys to Healthy Binding cover

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Blu-ray cover

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is exactly what a sequel should be, in spite of the 36-year gap since the original film was released in 1988. It’s got the fondly remembered characters and a similar situation to the previous, with enough differences to make it more than just a decades-later copy. The strengths of the original are still here, too — the wacky view of the afterlife, the conflict between the living and the dead, and special effects in the service of horror [...]
